Born and raised in the small town of Mesilla, New Mexico,
Sofía felt deeply connected to the magic of film by the age of 10. Whether it was watching The Chronicles of Narnia in the movie theatre or her own adventures she would take herself on at home (utilizing crucial props such as a bean bag in place of a pirate ship or printer paper in place of a treasure map), nothing felt more true to herself then those moments.

She worked diligently to complete formal education, and at 16 years old, graduated high school and left home to attend a 2-year immersive film and television internship. There she had the opportunity to begin working as an actor in projects while continuing to receive training. After being asked to stay an additional year as a staff member for the acting track, she completed her time there in 2015 and relocated to Los Angeles.

Upon arrival to Los Angeles, she began pursuing acting and working in the entertainment industry. She obtained a job in a sector of the video game production world where she worked as a producer for several years. A majority of her corporate career involved working with the actor's union SAG-AFTRA, including several years as a business representative for the union. These 8+ years of working with or at the union has given her immeasurable experience with the many collective bargaining agreements for union productions.

Since December of 2023, Sofía has focused solely on her career as an actor, and thus since then, has had the pleasure of working on many student films, an independent feature film and several independent short films. She was recently cast as a lead in
"Gray Matter" (in post-production) and in "We Liked Your Vibe" (in post-production).
